Pervenio Protect™ is a handset fraud detection product that is used by mobile operators to track and block marked mobile devices in real time on the network; Protect ™ ensures a cost effective, turnkey solution to enable a mobile operator to render a lost, stolen and fraudulent handset useless which helps to deter mobile handset theft. Additionally Pervenio Protect™ detects the offending subscriber's identity (IMSI/MSISDN) and optionally blocks them from access to the network if using a fraudulent handset. The Pervenio product is able to lock an IMEI to an IMSI pairs; ensuring subsidized handsets cannot be unpacked by the retailers.

The Pervenio Protect™ product can be deployed as a standardized active EIR in the network or as a Virtual EIR enterprise solution to minimize cost of deployment. Handset blocking in the mobile network is normally with a standard Equipment Identity Register (EIR) requiring costly MSC upgrades to support. Pervenio has provided a unique means of entry at a lower cost by enabling detection of the fraudulent handset activity from usage event data. This provides a low cost impact for the operator when they have to comply with the regulator and block stolen handsets with Protect allowing seamless migration to real time functionality on the same platform in the future.
