FRANKFURT, SEPTEMBER 15, 2006 – FINE POINT TECHNOLOGIES, A LEADER IN BROADBAND DEPLOYMENT AND PROVISIONING SOLUTIONS, ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT SIEMENS HOC HAS INTRODUCED ITS BROADBAND SOLUTION BMS 200 AND SONIC TELECOMS EIX-3 VOIP GATEWAY INTO THEIR LAB IN BOCHOLT TO PERFORM TESTS WITH ITS GIGASET PRODUCT RANGE.

Jörg Weidemann, Head of Group Test Technology and Support decided in the beginning of the year to use the BMS 200 and the EIX-3 to perform internal tests in their lab in Bocholt.
After performing several certification tests prior to the introduction of the equipment into its test lab Fine Point and Sonic equipment have pass the certification with excellence. The following features were successfully tested:

BMS 200:
- PPPoE Termination up to 1000 sessions (product license restricted)
- Load balancing and offload router performance capacity
- Configuration and programming via the BMS GUI interface

EIX-3:
- Voice over IP Routing and termination SIP based
- Configuration and programming via GUI comity through IP and ISDN
- ISDN PRI protocol and port compatibility in connection to ETSI and Siemens equipment

BMS 200
The ServPoET™ Broadband Management Server (BMS) platform provides the industry-leading family of PPPoE subscriber management products that offload and terminate PPPoE sessions for all types of broadband service at nearly 1/3 the cost and 3x the performance. The ServPoET BMS™ platform offers carriers and service providers worldwide a solution for aggregating and managing broadband PPPoE subscribers and value-added services.
ServPoET BMS offloads CPU-intensive PPPoE termination from your existing edge routers and access concentrators, freeing your network capacity for more efficient routing, bandwidth usage and value-added services. In some cases the network capacity of the existing routers and access concentrators can be increased by up to 1100% by simply processing PPPoE on ServPoET instead. With ServPoET, cost can be reduced by up to 1/3 the cost of using existing edge routers and access concentrators for terminating PPPoE!

EIX-3 VoIP Gateway
2-Port PRI/1-Port 10/100BaseTx for Voice, Fax and Data on Primary Rate Interfaces as well as Voice over IP (VoIP), Fax over IP (T.38) SIP based. Additionally VoIP-Gateway capabilities and voice compression (G.711µ/a, G.723, G.726, G.729) are available.
The realization of alternative network access or VoIP-LCR (Least Cost Routing) functionality for voice, fax and data services can be achieved easily with the use of the ISDN-PRI-VoIP-Dialer/Gateway IPX3. The connection is established eg. between PBX, network (PRI interface) and IP-LAN/WAN/Internet. It can be used for VoIP-Gateway- and/or Dial-In-Server-applications to workaround the widespread used DTMF dial in procedure by a clean ISDN procedure.
The IPX3 is programmed to select the most favourable service provider (VoIP, call-by-call, easy access, 0800 access, dial-in, calling card platform, call back...) and to establish the desired connection. Due to the fast call setup using ISDN and IP, a transparent dial-in process is ensured.

Sonic Telecom GmbH as an affiliated partner of Fine Point Technologies, Inc delivers its customers and network carriers or ISPs, the possibility of extending their existing ISDN infrastructure, through SIP based VoIP technology and thereby ensuring a high investment protection. Both kinds of ISDN-BRI connections are supported: Point-to-Point (PtP) and Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP).
